Pinching myself for participating in the Light Painting Photography Workshop recently at The Workshop in Redfern.
To be able to spend 6 hours learning techniques from the likes of Pala Teth (Belgium - check out his website - amazing!), Patrick Rochon from Liteblades (Canada), Dennis Smith (Australia) and Rob Turney (Australia - what this guy does with a wine glass - who ever knew!!!) blew my mind, was amazing, creating one of a kind beautiful pieces - and to get half decent results on your first try, very encouraging (and addictive!).

With light painting - the creator of the art is considered to be the person performing with the torches, not the photographer (easy to do both at the same time due to long exposures or on bulb setting with a remote control). The images in this post were all taken last night by me on my camera, however performed / created by either by our instructors (whom I can credit on individual photos) or by other participants (whom unfortunately I don't know to be able to credit properly...)

In a few short hours, I grew to love the creativity and element of unknown about light painting. It was so much fun to move and dance with the torch in the dark, and then run back to your camera to see what you had just created. Each photograph is unique and one of a kind. I can't wait to get set up and try my hand at it again!
